Al Doseri Law yesterday (18 September 2024) attended and participated in the Bahrain Business Law Forum 2024, hosted by LexisNexis Middle East.

The forum was a meeting place for leaders in the Bahraini legal and business market, to discuss the trends and developments in the Kingdom, including the impact of digitalisation on the legal sector and how Bahrain’s legislative framework is developing in light of the digital economy, as well as what should legal professionals expect from the adoption of AI technology and the developing legal framework regarding its use.
Founding Partner Saad Al Doseri was a panellist at the event and discussed Bahrain’s rapidly changing dispute resolution landscape, the Kingdoms new “English-Friendly” commercial court, the evolution of arbitration as a method of dispute resolution and the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitration awards. Saad Al Doseri offered his unique insight into the matter, having successfully acted in the landmark, first of its kind international commercial dispute conducted in the English language in the Kingdom in May this year.

Asad Ahmad of Al Doseri Law’s strategic partner firm GLA & Company was also invited to attend and speak at the event. He joined a panel of experts discussing negotiating and drafting of international and regional commercial contracts, focusing on the impact of the new merger control regimes in the GCC on M&A transactions. In light of the new merger control regulations issued in the region, the discussion also involved the merger control practical considerations parties must address, beginning with the due diligence phase of an M&A transaction, up to and including closing.
