Partner Saad Al Doseri has featured in the March 2023 edition of Employment Law Review, published by The Law Reviews, discussing employment law frameworks in Bahrain.
In his article, Saad begins with an introduction to the major employment-related laws in Bahrain, particularly the Labour Law and how it generally favours the employee, with minimum applicable benefits for who is considered the weaker party in the employment relationship.
Further topics discussed include the process of a labour dispute, recent amendments to employment law in Bahrain, significant example cases, employment relationship, as well as restrictive covenants.
Saad also highlights the additional policies which apply to foreign workers and the global policies which impact Employment Law in Bahrain. He further explains employee entitlements, including parental leave, translation, employee representation and data protection.
He concludes with an outlook for the coming year, where he foresees that while there may not be any imminent amendments to the Labour Law, global trends such as hybrid working may extend to Bahrain’s employment market.
